Abu-Sara graduated in 2003 with an honours degree from De Montfort University (Leicester, UK). He then completed his Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Brunel University (London, UK) and gained official status as a fully qualified Mathematics teacher in the UK.
His 10 years teaching experience includes teaching Mathematics at 4 different secondary schools in both the UK and the UAE. At his most recent school, Greenfield Community School, he was the Head of the Mathematics Department where he led the department from a KHDA rating of ‘Acceptable’ to ‘Good’ in his first year in charge.
Abu-Sara is extremely passionate about education and in particular has a desire to teach through mastery-based methods. In mathematics he ensures that the students focus on conceptual understanding while embedding links to real-world problems every step of the way.
Abu-Sara loves the Math-U-See curriculum and believes it is the best curriculum out there for those who wish to develop a love of the subject within their students.
His ultimate goal is to remove the stigma attached to Mathematics as a subject that students either ‘love or hate’. He honestly believes everyone would love Maths if taught using effective pedagogy by a teacher who has the drive and passion in teaching the subject.
I am an Egyptian national and am married with 2 young daughters.
I received my masters from Cairo University (Egypt) and have more than 8 years of experience teaching Arabic to non-Arabs.
At the beginning of my teacher career I spent a lot of time researching and looking for the best way to learn a new language, especially ARABIC!
I believe languages should be learnt through your:
Eyes first (visual learning)
Ears second (auditory learning),
Limbs third (kinesthetic learning)
I have used my years of experience, teaching both children and adults, to develop an Arabic programme which utilizes a variety of learning tools to make learning Arabic fun and exciting.
I have chosen to work at Witty Learning Institute because of the importance the institute places on the students’ learning over and above the financial gain of the center unlike many other institutes in Dubai.
I am a Spanish national from Andalucía in southern Spain. I married a UK national and moved to England 12 years ago before we then relocated to the UAE in June 2015.
My background in teaching Spanish comes from personal tutoring that I have done in the UK for more than 3 years. Being native Spanish, the language is an obvious subject for me to teach and I have tutored children from 6 years of age through to 14/15 - from beginner level through to assisting with High school examination preparation.
My teaching methods stem from wanting to make the learning: engaging, fun, interactive and practical.
I don’t list words on a board to learn or talk to my classes about rules and expecting them to somehow pick them up. My philosophy is more about engaging with the children, developing conversation, teaching through activities and making learning a new language fun and something they enjoy doing.
I chose Witty Learning, as I like the more practical smaller classes, which allow more time to be focused on the children as well as the excellent family-orientated flexibility in hours the institute provides.
I am a Chinese national from an icy city Harbin, located in the far northeast of China. Harbin is renowned for being far and away one of the best places in the country for learning standard Mandarin.
I have been teaching Chinese for over 5 years to a range of ages and levels. I hold the certificate in teaching Chinese as a second language from the world renowned Confucius Institute (National Office for teaching Chinese as a foreign language).
I know learning a language is tough, so I always make my lessons fun and engaging. Learning foreign languages should be an enjoyable experience and I want to be someone who can teach you Chinese and at the same time someone you can easily talk with.
I chose Witty Learning, as they always value any customs and try to cater for individual learning needs. Language is vital in our ever-increasingly globalized world, helping us build bridges between cultures and develop greater understanding.
I am a Chinese national from the capital city, Beijing.
I married a Chinese national and moved to Dubai 3 years ago and have more than 7 years of experience teaching Chinese to non-Chinese.
As an intercultural communicator, I have a keen interest in Chinese language and culture and learned the intricate skill of calligraphy during my childhood. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and interests with my students and use a variety of instructional strategies to provide excellent and engaging learning activities for students of all ability levels.
I like to develop hands-on lessons for both adults and kids to inspire them and accelerate the learning process by making it enjoyable and engaging. Through my classes, students can learn Mandarin and Chinese culture in a relaxing and positive classroom interactive atmosphere.
I chose Witty Learning, as they always provide high-quality language lessons and work cooperatively with teachers in developing and sharing curriculum strategies. I am sure you can learn a lot from Witty learning through any of its programs.
I look forward to seeing you in my Chinese class!
